On May 3rd 2016 was an historical first for the Cuban capital which hosted an haute couture fashion show. The catwalk presenting the new Chanel collection imagined by the great Karl Lagerfeld was on the Paseo del Prado boulevard by the sea.
Reminding Cuba during the 50’s very popular for the Hollywood celebrities, this fashion show inspired by Caribbean colors was rhythmed of the heady Cuban percussions. It was way after the fashion weeks that Karl Lagerfeld presented his new collection in Havana streets. “Viva Coco Cuba Libre” T-shirts, colorful printed and retro bikini… the looks remind the Caribbean vacation drinking cocktails and dancing salsa. Don’t forget to wear the Panama, typical accessories in South America, which come back for summer at Chanel!
Last year, Chanel traveled to Seoul. Others destinations as Dubai or Venice hosted the fashion designer and his team for Chanel fashion shows always as festive as creative. You can discover the Karl Lagerfeld photography exhibition that inspired him for his new collection at Factoria Habana in Havana until May 12th 2016.
